I hold a BA in Copywriting from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

My professional writing career began at The Milwaukee Journal/Milwaukee Sentinel marketing department. I researched consumer behavior in the company's annual Consumer Analysis project and also wrote marketing copy to support the two newspapers' events, content and product promotion.

A few years later, I got the itch for more diverse writing opportunities. In 1994, I took over copywriting and proofing responsibilities at GS Design, an award-winning graphic design firm in Glendale, Wisconsin. Not only was this a great learning experience, GS provided a great working environment. After nearly six years writing copy for companies like Harley-Davidson Motor Company, Master Lock and a range of smaller clients, I saw great opportunities in the field of promotional marketing. In 1999, I joined ABC, a promotional marketing firm in Milwaukee.

Eight years in promotional marketing significantly expanded my perspective of what companies need to do to stand out among their competitors. My customers shared with me their greatest challenges, the marketing efforts that failed them, where they felt they were losing to the competition. I helped them to fill the gaps, gain control of their marketing, and boost sales and customer contact opportunities.
